Youth for Human Rights BC Walks for Poverty
Tuesday, October 17, 2006
Vancouver, 14 October 2006: Members of the British Columbia chapter of Youth for Human Rights International participated in Vancouver's annual "Walk for Poverty." They also manned a booth after the walk in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery to spread the word on the need for human rights education to be taught in Canadian schools. Several hundred individuals obtained copies of the "What are Human Rights?" booklets for youth, outlining the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights in language young people can understand.
